The Dahua IP Dome Camera offers several different types of image sensors: CCD, Progressive Scan, IR Cut Filter and Day/Night. The CCD image sensor delivers superior picture quality but takes up more space on the circuit board than other types of sensors do. However, this type of sensor can be used with any kind of lighting condition because it has an infrared cut filter built in to prevent glare or reflections from affecting the image quality. The progressive scan image sensor has a higher resolution than the interlace scan image sensor but takes up less space on the circuit board than other types of sensors do because it does not use vertical blanking intervals between lines of pixels during transmission or storage. An IR cut filter prevents unwanted infrared light from reaching the sensor so that it can only capture visible light. This helps improve color accuracy when there are low levels of ambient light present during filming or recording events
